Answers to Life's Major Questions -brought to you by Psalm 100

Who am I? Where do I come from? Why am I here? What is life all about?
Each of us wrestles with the above questions at some point (or multiple points) in our lives. Fortunately, for those of us who believe that God's Word is true, we have a helpful and reliable source to which we can turn for answers. This is good news! In fact, when we put our trust in Jesus and we walk in His ways, we will find more and more good news jumping off the pages of scripture!
One of the main goals of simpleofferings.net is to help you find ways to enjoy, honor and teach God's word in your home. If this is something you would like to do more faithfully but you don't know where to begin, allow me to suggest Psalm 100.
Psalm 100 is only 5 verses long which makes it a very doable chapter to memorize and these few verses are packed full of wonderful theology that speaks to our deepest, most important questions.
For example,
Who am I?
Vs. 3 - I am His
How did I get here?
Vs. 3 - He (that is God) made me
What am I supposed to do with my life?
Vs. 2 - Serve the Lord with gladness
Where do I belong?
Vs. 3 - I belong to Him. I am part of His family - the sheep of His pasture.
Who is in charge?
Vs. 3 - The Lord, He is God
How do I approach God?
Vs. 4 - With thanksgiving and praise!
What is God like?
Vs. 5 - He is good and steadfast and faithful
Maybe your three year old isn't asking "What am I supposed to do with my life?" but he will someday and I can almost guarantee that kid is already asking "Who's in charge?" It is never too early to introduce the rich truths of God's word into your child's heart and mind.
In the event that you would like to take up the challenge of memorizing these 5 powerful verses with your kids, my friend and I have put together a little song and dance (literally) to help you do just that! We have found that when we put music and motions to a verse everyone in the family memorizes it more quickly and retains it much longer. I'm including the link for the verse by verse tutorial and the whole chapter review. We hope this will be a helpful tool for you and your family and if so we will gladly make more!
Happy Memorizing!
