Mortality

I was sorting through some old itunes folders and came across this song I wrote and recorded about 10 years ago when my Papo was in hospice. I never released it on an album and thought that even though its old it would be new to all of you! Please enjoy this free download on the always popular subject of mortality :)
Update: for some reason the song isn't showing up on my iphone but it does on my computer. Just FYI in case you can't find it...
And while we're on the subject...I hate being mortal. Some part of my soul has always felt too big for it. Sometimes the thought that we cannot escape death can be almost paralyzing but mostly, my finite lifespan inspires me to live well. Friends, if our lives our fleeting then let's spend them well.
Let's choose the things that matter most.
Let's give ourselves to things that outlive us.
Let's love on our people and hold them close and praise God that death is about to be swallowed up in victory.
1 Cor. 15:54
When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”
"He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose."
